Ross + Tracey {San Luis Obispo}
The heart and relaxed vibe of San Luis Obispo can be summed in Ross + Tracey’s wedding at The Flying Caballos Ranch. Because they met at Cal Poly coming back to SLO for their wedding was part special reunion of best friends and part the meeting of two families spread out across the country and up into Canada.
The story goes that Ross and Tracy met in the dark room during a photography class. Though the sparks did fly they both protested during the toasts that any physical romance occurred in the lab. Riiiight… It wasn’t until the second time they met up at a photography show when Ross caught Tracey off guard and planted a big one on her. It was a serendipitous moment that Tracey replays over and over again causing her to realize how meant-to-be they are.
We LOVED their creative details and style. They branded their wedding using a tandem cruiser and vintage dog drawings and bottles. Their rings were pressed with each other’s fingerprints. Ross’ band, Arcadio/groomsmen played some original tunes and then a Beruit song as Ross cruised their bike down the aisle to await his bride! A bridesmaid read Shel Silverstein’s Where the Sidewalk Ends, so I thought it would be fun to share. It gives this childlike poem a sweet romantic twist.
Where the Sidewalk Ends
“There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.” –Shel Silverstein
