Shayne + Ashleigh {Wedding, Nipomo}

Shayne + Ashleigh got married in Shaynes grandparents backyard. What an enchanted little grove of trees and hangy stuff! I felt honored to be there to witness their wedding because they really only had family and close friends in attendance.

There are some fun little facts about this couple that ties my story and their story together. If you are into it, read on!

Fact #1: Years ago Ashleigh worked with my wife Anna at her dads auto body shop. I used to go into the office and visit Ashleigh when I would meet her father there for lunch once a week. (confused yet?) It was those random Tuesday afternoons that I would chat with the blonde girl who sat in the desk looking very office-professional with her phone head piece that reminded me of a country music singers microphone. One of those random lunch days I invited the cute blonde to a group outing and the rest is history.

Fact #2: My mother in law made this dress by hand! Crazy lady, huh?! She did an amazingly amazing job. Ashleigh had a vision, expressed it to Vickey and they were both so pleased with the result! If anyone wants a one of a kind Victoria original hit me up. I have her details.

Mr. Miagi wasnt exactly one of the groomsmen but he asked me if I could take a picture of him and his dogs.

Fact #3: I actually photographed Shaynes cousins wedding 2 years ago at this same location. That was the first time that I met Shayne. You may recognize Denton from some of the pictures that are in my wedding gallery. It was so awesome to see both Denton and Sayde again as well as their newest family addition!

Fact #4: Ashleighs father Jose married them. He is my good friend and also my pastor.

Fact #5: Ashleigh looked stunning! (that actually has nothing to do with me, but its true) You could really sense the joy that flowed from Shayne as he gazed into his new brides deep blue eyes! What an awesome day!

Dale + Tiffany {Wedding, Avila Beach}

Dale + Tiffany got married at the Avila Beach Golf Resort during the epic heat wave we had a couple of weeks ago. It was crazy hot so we found lots of trees to hide under for picture time. After the ceremony the wedding site coordinator, Linda, escorted us around the course on golf carts and gave us wet rags that had been in the freezer. God bless you Linda!

They had hula girls dance during their reception, a legit kimono and a NBA or NFL (I dont know sports) grand entrance. It was rad! Check out their engagement pictures if you are a blog stalker.

My Wife is InStyle!

How amazing is this?!

If you pick up a current copy of InStyle Weddings and flip to around page 90 you will find an ad for mywedding.com that features a stunningly beautiful picture of my lovely wife! The magazine has been on stands for a couple of weeks now. I was waiting for either Jeff or Anna to blog about it, but I guess they are both a little humble. Therefore, I will have to be the proud husband and friend to say just how awesome it is to have had one of the most amazing wedding photographers, Jeff Newsom, document our day and to have such a stunning bride!

Mywedding.com asked Jeff for a picture of Anna from our wedding because they said that she was just sooo beautiful. It is true. So many people that have seen our images comment about just how beautiful she looked that day. I think it really came down to the fact that she knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that she was loved. A woman who knows love is a woman of stunning and endless beauty.

Mywedding.com said that they have already had tremendous feedback from this image and so many brides are inquiring about where Anna got her dress. She picked it up at Down The Aisle and it was made by a Canadian designer called Selena. Anna really just wanted something simple and elegant that worked perfectly with her body type. It was also important to her to find a dress that didnt look like every other brides dress that I have photographed. She wanted to be the most beautiful bride that I have ever laid my eyes upon. She was and she still is.

Matt + Ali {Engagement, SLO}

Matt and Ali are planning a sweet little destination wedding here on the Central Coast this summer. They drove up from L.A. for an afternoon shoot. We met up at a junkyard and got some fun shots in the rubbage.

When I initially talked to Ali on the phone I knew I wanted to work with her right away. She is such a real person. I felt like we were old college buddies within minutes. She is expressive, excited about her wedding and extremely passionate about the man she is about to marry and spend the rest of her days with. It was also exciting to find out later that she is an actress and has been in some really cool movies. She is in a Disney movie that is due to come out this summer around the time of her wedding. I will let you know so you can go see it.

Great job guys. Thanks for being so beautiful and so real. Love ya both!

Matt + Kim {Engagement, SLO}

Beautiful people! I had a lot of fun showing Matt and Kim around some back alleys and San Luis Obispo mountain sides. Matt is actually a cousin of an ol friend of mine, Jessie Cheatwood. I set up and photographed Jessies Husband, Jerami, proposing like 4 years ago or so. Then I was the best man in their wedding. Now they have a litter of kids. Good memories.

It was a pleasure shooting Matt and Kims engagement pictures especially because they are cousins of some people that I dearly love! They are radical enough to get married on a Friday in September. Friday is the new Saturday.

Michael + Jennifer {Wedding, Holland Ranch}

Anna and I had such a wonderful time shooting the new-Newsom-two-some at the Holland Ranch here in San Luis Obispo. It was a perfect day! I just couldnt handle how beautiful the mountain backdrop was. Jen was an absolutely stunning bride and Mike was looking dapper as can be. It was so much fun to photograph their wedding because I have known Mike since he was just a wee lad.

Lori Boe did such a fantastic job on the flowers. I am always so impressed by the unique life and vibrancy that she adds to a wedding. Joe Labarbera did an awesome job playing the tunes and keeping the party flowing. What an awesome day!

My good friend, Jeff Newsom, is Mikes brother and was one of the best men. It was cool having him on the other side of the camera for once. I was excited to finally grab a shot of Jeff and Kim. We have been meaning to photograph them since Jeff shot our engagement pictures and then wedding up to 2 years ago. So serious!

As the sun was setting Newsom and I took Mike and Jen down to the pond for a few more shots. Jeff really wanted to shoot a killer lighting shot of Jen with his soft box. Check out his version of this same moment. One word: AWESOME!

If you want to see their engagement pictures; then do it!
